The flag-draped casket of Sapper Brian Collier returned to Bradford on Tuesday, to the Skwarchuk Funeral Home. Visitation was held at Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church, 167 Essa St. on Wednesday, 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29th, at Holy Martyrs of Japan Church. The turnout is expected to exceed the capacity of the church; loudspeakers will be set up so that those unable to get seating inside can hear the service.

Those wishing to pay their respects along the processional route please note:

The funeral party will depart Skwarchuk Funeral Home on Simcoe Rd., travel up Barrie St. to Fletcher, left on Fletcher to Church St., then south to Holy Martyrs of Japan for the 11 a.m. service.

Following the funeral, the procession will leave via Essa Rd., travel east on Queen St. to Barrie St., then south to Holland St. West, and west to Professor Day Drive. The funeral procession will travel north on Prof. Day to the 8th Line, then east on the 8th, with a detour to Gardiner Drive, to carry Sapper Collier past his home one last time. The cortege will then return to the eastbound 8th Line, go north on Yonge St. to the 9th Line, and then west to Holy Martyrs Cemetery for the interment.

Donations in Brian Collier's name to the Holy Martyrs of Japan Building Fund, Bradford District High School Scholarship Fund or Holy Trinity H.S. Scholarship Fund can be made through Skwarchuk Funeral Home.
